Sea of Love
Come with me, my love
To the sea, the sea of love
I want to tell you
How much I love you
Do you remember when we met?
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you
How much I love you
Come with me
To the sea
Of love
Do you remember when we met?
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you
How much I love you
Come with me
To the sea
Of love
Do you remember when we met
That's the day I knew you were my pet
I want to tell you
How much I love you

'Sea of Love’ singer Phil Phillips dies at 94
John Philip Baptiste "Phil Phillips"
Singer/Songwriter "Phil Phillips" Passes Away
Our Dear Husband, Father, Grandfather, Father-in-Law, Uncle and Friend left Home on Sunday, March 14, 1926, and on Saturday, March 14, 2020, at the age of 94, he was surrounded by family as he was peacefully called to return Home.
Whether he was known as Philip or Phil by those who knew him personally, or as the singer/songwriter of the classic hit “Sea of Love,” “Phil Phillips” by those who knew him throughout the world, or as radio disc jockey “Thē Phil Phillips, King of the World” by locals, one thing remained the same — the loving man behind the name. No matter who you were, if Philip met you, he tried to have a positive impact on your life. Whether it was to give guidance, to console, to listen, or to lend a helping hand, Phillip’s love for people emanated with his presence. He had a special way of making everyone he met feel as though they had known him their entire lives.
Though he faced much adversity in his life, his spiritual faith never once wavered throughout his entire life, no matter what. He remained steadfast as a soldier for what is good and what is right. Though he knew he was not perfect, he always strived to have a perfect heart and to be the best he could be within humanity. He would always say, “Love your sisters, love your brothers, love one another; do something to help somebody somewhere. Then you’ll be great. You will be great.”
Though Philip did not receive justice in his musical career, one thing he received and always treasured was the love of his fans. He always spoke of his fans with great love and respect, and his connection to them truly meant so much to him. No matter what part of the world they were from, he was always happy to hear from his fans and to interact with them. Hearing his fans’ own stories of true love and how he and his music inspired them and made such a positive impact on their lives was always a humbling experience for Philip. He never treated anyone as though they were beneath him; he knew that people are equal no matter the fame and popularity. To know that he touched so many people’s lives throughout the world truly warmed his heart, and he cherished it throughout his life.
Philip had a deep love for family and those he cared about. Whether they were near or far, the love he felt never diminished. His dedication to and devoted love for his wife, Bell, of 60 years, his children, and grandchildren only seemed to grow as he grew older. His love for them and selfless acts of always putting them first were shown until the very end.
Though it is always so hurtful and difficult to say goodbye to those we love so dearly, knowing that Philip is back Home watching over us provides steady comfort to our family as we wait for and look forward to the day we are all reunited.
As a family, we decided to keep services private for immediate family only, but in keeping with Philip’s love, respect and appreciation for his fans, whom he cherished so dearly, we felt it was only right to give them a platform and opportunity to express their thoughts and love for Philip and pay their final respects to him. To pay respects, please go to Philip’s obituary page at or post a comment here. https://www.dignitymemorial.com/.../philip-baptiste-9085044
We want to thank you all for the genuine love and support you showed and gave to Philip throughout his career and life. Your condolences, kind and thoughtful gestures, and heartfelt words mean so much to us, and we want you all to know that you are appreciated and you will never be forgotten. The Baptiste Family
